This is one of my most beautiful composition and lyrics. Lyrics are deep, and will take a few moments to understand.
On the outset, it looks like another Bollywood alcoholic song; but it is not. The concept of mixing wine with tears is unique, and the sentiment is painful.
As much as love and life are glorified, it is a path of thorns that we pretend to enjoy. Loneliness can turn tears in to alcohol or vice-a-versa; turning life into a subconscious painful existence.
Initially I thought Asha Bhosle would be a perfect singer for this song. I had a couple of phone conversations with her. She was very nice, and said that she was extremely busy.
Luckily I found Jyotsna Hardikar to sing this song. It is very difficult composition to sing. She did excellent job in trying to get expressions and notes that I had expected from a singer. I would say she was 110%.
I hope you enjoy the song.
